A pint of Haagen-Dazz Rum Raison ice cream started the celebration for Rachel + JC’s Cantigny Park wedding at Arrowhead Golf Course. Rachel decided to surprise her groom to be with some of his favorite things, including pistachios and monkey socks.
The bride and her crew excitedly got ready just across the hall from her groom. For their Cantigny Park wedding, Rachel wanted her handsome groom to see her for the first time in the park. Blindfolded, JC waited patiently for his bride. She sweetly came up to him with a hug and a kiss.
“She knows my love for concerts and will go with me, even if they are in Spanish. I love her witty, unexpected one liners. I love that we agree that there is never a wrong time for ice cream. And I love that when I have a hard day at work, coming home to her will make things okay.”
Rachel met JC at college when they both attended a party. He asked her to dance and they spent the rest of the night dancing. Their first date was to a sushi restaurant. Rachel was far from a connoisseur of raw fish and was more nervous about trying sushi than about the date. That was the start to many adventures they would have together.
“He’s the best travel buddy. He’s always down for an adventure together. The best days we have together are always unplanned and spontaneous. ”
