Gena + Bret’s South Shore Cultural Center Wedding
Bret + Gena planned their beautiful South Shore Cultural Center wedding at the same venue where President Barack and Michelle were married.
Bret + Gena met in their dorm building at the University of Madison. From the moment that Bret saw the red haired beauty, he was smitten with her. He pulled out all the stops to win her over, determined to impress the elegant beauty. For their first date, Bret took her to a fancy restaurant, which was a big deal on a student budget. It was clear from the beginning that they had a very special and unshakable bond and they had a unique chemistry. Their lives changed as they graduated from college and moved into new careers.
While they both got ready at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel, they stayed in separate rooms. They decided not to see each other before the wedding, because they wanted the traditional first look to be walking down the aisle. Gena was lucky to get the big suite to share with her bridesmaids as they got ready for the wedding. Because he was seeing his beautiful bride for the first time, tears welled up in Bret’s eyes as he watched Gena walking down the aisle with her Dad.
Vintage tile floors and elegant chandeliers
The venue is situated overlooking Lake Michigan and styled with vintage tile floors, elegant chandeliers and a great ballroom. The venue is bathed in beautiful light because of the floor to ceiling windows overlooking Lake Michigan. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails on the patio before heading into the ballroom for the reception. Touching toasts were given by Gena’s Dad and sister as well as Bret’s best friend and best man. After the first dances, the guests hit the dance floor and didn’t leave until the last second of the wedding.
